EDAC© is a course building methodology that speaks to the ability to learn, retain, and gain proficiency about a particular subject through a defined process model. This model is used in place of standard objective-based methods for better personal learner application. When a course employs an EDAC plan, it allows for the learner to make educated application to their specific situation, thus increasing the chances of retention through pull-based learning embedded within a standard course. This model was created by Keenan McBride, CPTM, CVF founder and owner of Success Strategy Training and Development. LLC. EDAC is an acronym that means EXAMINE, DISCOVER, APPLY, CREATE.
EXAMINE – What is it?

DISCOVER – What does it do?
The discover stage occurs when attention is peaked by points previously unknown to the learner. The learner may find certain details that are of particular interest to them. Dots are connected.

APPLY – How can it make me better?
The apply stage occurs when the learner pinpoints areas in their life (work or personal) where learnings can be applied to improve a situation or process or make more efficient. You see where it can be used.

CREATE – How can I sustain any improvements?
The create stage occurs when the learner can create an action plan, job aid, policy, evaluation, or some other method to ensure sustaining the newly learned process. Check results, make sure it is sustained.
